fix usage of strtoul()

Merged Christian Hitz requested to merge chhitz/vdsm:19742-strtol-usage into master

if no conversion happens errno is not set to EINVAL (this happens only if the base is set to an illegal value). But the end_ptr is set to the same value as the input string.
